Whether in front of a television camera or simply facing an audience comprised of employees, you MUST know your subject matter and state it with conviction. Even if it’s controversial, or even insulting to some, if you’re going to say something questionable, own it. Don’t stumble and bumble your way thru it. In this case, we would never suggest making a comment such as this public, especially so close to Memorial Day. No good can come of it, and there is no way to explain it away. But we have plenty of partners who say controversial things for ratings and even shock value. That being the case, you better know how to say it better than this.
