Video is THE powerful world medium. It not only exactly (as long as not edited for content and editorial bias) reveals your thought process, but also captures your emotions and facial expressions, both of which are powerful media tools for your image. Comedian Jon Stewart was labeled a socialist by a powerful media executive, a comment scoffed at by many. However, someone dug up a 12 year old interview with Stewart where he admitted, whether in jest or not, that he was a socialist. Let’s remember this interview is very old and could have been done as part of a comedic comment, but it still has power to make a point whether correct or dead wrong. You must remember that when the cameras are rolling, what you say NEVER goes away.
Roger Ailes: Jon Stewart Told Me In a Bar That He Is a Socialist, NY Times a ‘Cesspool of Bias’

Fox News CEO Roger Ailes is consistent. There are a few points he has made in interviews for years, and one of the most consistent drumbeats has been about media bias.
In a talk at Ohio University last night, Ailes hit those points again, while also adding a few new twists, according to people in attendance (via Romenesko). Yesterday, we linked to an interview in which Ailes talked about his career, and negotiating with the AP.
With regards to comedian and “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart, Ailes said:
Ailes: Jon Stewart is a comedian. He wouldn’t do well without Fox. And he basically has admitted to me, in a bar, that he’s a socialist.
